Welcome to Peter Clifford Online, my website and Blog. As you will see from my Biography I have been around sometime!
This website is dedicated to helping individuals worldwide become the very best that they can be. All of us, to one degree or another, are struggling to discover who we really are, what we are really meant to be doing and who we should really be with.
And we also have to have the opportunity to live in a creative, freely expressive environment and country where to contemplate that is even possible.
In the course of writing my Blog, I will endeavour to touch on problems and situations that are universal but also particular i.e. we can all learn something from an understanding of a particular situation or event and apply it to our own lives.
DEEP DIVE SUBJECTS:
I will also make a point of going into some depth on subjects such as:
- relationships
- the meaning of life
- the roots of anxiety
- comprehending stress
- finding motivation
- self-empowerment
- confidence building
- discovering emotional health
- reclaiming the best part of you
- changing your life
- human rights
- implementing democracy
- universal rights and freedoms
- justice and equality
- and much, much more – and all from my original and personal point of view.
For almost 40 years I have been sharing my ideas and thoughts with people one to one and with both small and large groups at different venues around the world. Now has come the time, through the use of this brilliant technology, to share the knowledge I have accumulated with a wider audience.
I intend to make my Blog as interesting as possible, but also topical, informative and humorous. I will also share links and videos that I find useful or amazing in some way.
Lastly, I welcome your comments and suggestions and if you like what you see and read on my website or any part of it, please click on the Like or Social Media buttons and tell your friends. That would be very much appreciated!

You did an awesome service reporting the Syrian conflict particularly the Kurdish region. The awareness you brought to me has made an impact on my life. I give what i can often feeling it isnt enough. I am an old soldier but would not want to go there in that capacity to fight. Perhaps I can be able to go there to help the people rebuild their lives. What a tragedy this war has been. My government can spend billions on bombs and arms but do so little to help the people who suffer the most. Thanks for your service. I hope that you are well and doing OK

The YPG must really regret not taking Mare(Marea) earlier this year when they had a great opportunity.

Wonderful reporting as always peter. Some great news watching Isis being hammered on all sides. I pray for the Syrian people and the Kurds especially the women and hope they can all return safely to their homes and families later this year.

1. It seems to me to announce where you are going next is not a sound military strategy, but the SDF does seem to say this and then go somewhere else or on a different tangent. Thus I have predicted for months that Madan and the nearby river crossing would be a mad bull rush attack as they could cross and really cut ISIS in half.
2. I also wouldn’t be surprised if we see 3-4 offenses at once, and the press on to Deir Ez-Zur may have been worked out with the Assad and Russian folks, as it is now the number one humanitarian crisis spot in Syria.
3. Toss in some movement to capture the high ground near Al Bab, and it would force ISIS to move troops around which the Coalition AC would eat up on the open roads.
4. Lots of pressure on ISIS in multiple areas in Iraq too. So something is going to happen somewhere on the big map….and soon.
Yes, it was not WWll tactics to tell the enemy what you were doing before you did it – but they often used misdirection too. However, given the modern media coverage with phone pics etc, IS can hardly miss the troop and armour build up, so don’t suppose their is much point in hiding it.It will be interesting to see how it develops, as you say, particularly in Aleppo province. 1. I recently read where the US Army has modified a heavy caliber howitzer to allow its range to increase from around 19 miles, to a rocket assisted gps guided munition that has a range of 90 miles…and has offered to provide these to Turkey. Have you seen such news, as this range would extend into the areas the YPG has captured across Tishreen dam.
2. I was sent a video I think in German that has the word Kurd captioned that shows 3 guys being escorted to their presumed execution and the guy on the right in black gets his hands free and onto a AK47 of the badguy and seemingly shots another guard before the camera vision is obscured, but shooting continues…and the last shot is this same escapee alive!!

Hi, Matt, 1. I did in fact mention the near rocket system from the US to Turkey on 27th April report, still on the page if you scroll down: “the US has announced that it is supplying a mobile HIMARS rocket launching system in May to be deployed in Turkey along the Syria/Turkey border. HIMARS (which stands for “High Mobility Artillery Rocket System”) missiles have a range of 90 kilometres (55 miles) in contrast to the Turkish shells which can only reach 40 kilometres.” The US would not allow the Turks to fire at the SDF and I suspect the rocket unit will be under US control.
2. This is a new one to me. I would be surprised if he got clean away as he would have been surrounded by heavily armed monsters. If you send me the clip I will take a look.

I have a question, as you made a comment that the USA had purchased land in Syria from the farmers…I believe that USA laws preclude the USA government from purchasing land in any foreign country, even leasing it, without the deal going though and receiving the host nations approval, would not and could not be valid. So maybe this land was dealt for, but surely not in a “purchase” manner. So please do some more research, as I am very curious about the legal terms of this deal. The Marshall Islands HAS a lease with the USA government for private land “Kwajalein”, BUT it MUST go through and be negotiated with the Host Govt. Your site needs a QUESTION AND ANSWER BOX!! And a Board of local contacts/experts to give us answers on all the Kurdish topics. Very sincerely, Matthew B. Holly

It seems the passion for Kurdish security and independence has two, maybe three groups and thought processes. To the casual reader it is NOT an easy task to sort out whos who where and when.
Saying that myself, as a pretty conservative guy, I have to pick the leftist ideology based PKK as the ones with the true heart in this battle.
Many Kurds joined with ISIS AGAINST the Barzani Iraq team before the Yazidi’s and Kobane Its just the way it was. And now they worry about the Shia militia’s.
These guys truly need a good arbitrator to make it the next few years…

Well Peter I think the saddest part of all of this is between all the Kurdish teams when combined, they have all the skillsets, people, culture, natural resources and potential income to be autonomous or even independent. Both major teams now have USA and maybe even Russian backing…so I say their time is now and if they squander it due to internal strife, well as TE Lawrence said of others in the region in the past… “so long as the Arabs (now Kurds) fight tribe against tribe, so long will they be a little people, a silly people, greedy, barbarous, and cruel, as you are.” Even movie quotes are now part of the middle east history.
Absolutely right. If they mess it up now they will never get another chance – at least not in the foreseeable future. Ah, T.E.L. – one of my favourite movies – and he knew the Middle East better than most. PC.

Wondering what’s happening in Marea due north of Aleppo. There have been many conflicting reports, some saying that SDF/al Thuwar forces had taken Marea by force, others suggesting that there was a negotiated withdrawal of Islamist forces allowing SDF/al Thuwar to move in, some indicating that Islamist forces still maintained control. What is the real situation in this strategic town directly on the front lines of ISIS controlled territory?
If there is a move to take Manbij, wouldn’t the logical end goal be to hook-up with forces moving southeast from Marea?
Hi, Bob, many thanks for your comments. To be honest I have slightly lost track of that situation. Last I heard SDF/Al-Thuwar had taken over, but sometimes these things move so fast and change hands several times in a matter of 2 or 3 days, or even hours, so it is sometimes hard to know. However, I have made a note to tease out the latest information and put it in a forthcoming post. Will let you know. All good wishes, Peter.
